As our praise team sang this line from a song that I’ve heard many times before, I heard the words ‘you’re not done with me yet… there’s so much more to this story’ and it felt as if they were talking to me.
The words are from the song ‘More Than Able’ by Elevation Worship. As I paused my writing to go listen, it spoke to my heart in a new way. So many of the words, reminding me of particular situations.
A verse that I’ve been holding on to is Ephesians 3:20 ‘Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us’… and this is what this song is built on ‘more than able’.
Another thing I hear in the song is hope. Hope for what God will do with us.. ‘He’s not done with me yet’… a very strong belief that there is more to come… there’s more to this story.
Friends, if you are in the middle of a season that does not make sense, would you hold on to hope and a reminder from Jeremiah 32:27 ‘I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?’
I don’t know about you, but whenever I read this, I want to jump up and say ‘no Lord.. there is nothing too hard for you to do’.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for the hope that you have placed in us. Thank you for the reminders that there is nothing too hard for you, and that you are more than able to do exceedingly more than we can ask or think or imagine. May our hearts always be tuned to you and your love and care for us.
