When God Calls You to Move

I recently had the pleasure of speaking with a young man who found me on the internet. He reached out because He had come across my LinkedIn profile and had seen some other interviews I’d done, and was looking for some guidance as it may relate to his own life.

As I excitedly shared my story with him, and listened to his, I was in amazement at what God could do and the journey He had seen fit to take me on.

When I titled my blog in 2016 ‘My Faith Journey’, I had no idea what I was doing. I had no idea how God would move. I had no idea how God would use one step of obedience to allow me to move and take the next step, then the next one, and then the ones after that. No idea at all.

But, as I now look back with my 20/20 hindsight, I can confidently say ‘God has been leading in this faith journey’. It’s been a journey, and it’s been one of complete faith.

If someone had asked me in 2016 what I foresaw for the next ten years, I don’t think I would have included any of the things that have happened. I might even have included prayers I’m still waiting for answers, as I’m sure they would have been answered by now. But God in His infinite mercies, have allowed the faith journey in the ways He’s seen fit.

Friends, if you sense God calling you to do something, especially things that are so far fetched out of your own plans, would you trust Him and answer the call? Would you do like Dr Charles Stanley says and ‘obey God and leave all the consequences to Him’?

I have a quote that says ‘I still remember the days that I prayed for the things I have now’ and, I have to chuckle and say, ‘I honestly didn’t know to ask for some of the things I have now’, but as I’ve walked in my faith journey, God has seen fit to add them.

Friends, answer the call, and be absolutely blown away by how God chooses to move.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you that you have promised to guide us with your loving eye upon us. Thank you that you are not a man that you should lie, and that you keep your promises. Thank you that we can trust you when we choose to walk by faith. Everything will not be perfect, but it will be good for us because your ways and thoughts are far higher than our ways and thoughts, and for that, we are so grateful.
