Yesterday morning I wanted to journal on a particular verse that came to me. But, as my routine was already off, I didn’t get around to it.
This morning as I sat in my quiet time reminding God that I still didn’t have a topic to share (or the one I wanted to), I was reminded of the verse, and not just to go to the Bible app (although it’s great).
I picked up my Bible, intending to go find the scripture, but got side tracked by a devotion in my Bible. After reading it, I started trying to guess where the scripture was located. I flipped one page – and it was right there. If you’ve heard me say this before – it happens to me often enough, and it still amazes me.
The scripture that I was looking for is 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 and it states this ‘Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.’
I continue to be amazed and blown away at how God cares about the smallest of details. I also realize that as I’m asking Him questions and expecting answers, that I need to open His word to hear what He has to say.
I would suggest that as you are about to open your Bible to read, that you ask God for a specific message for you and your situation. Then let Him lead.
And please feel free to share with me your experiences.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for always coming through with an on time message. Sometimes I look at the clock and watch the time going by for when I’m expected to share my thoughts and have nothing – but you always come through. I pray that I will remember this in all areas of my life.
