What’s in your hand?

So, for quite some time it was suggested that I should be writing. I’ve never had much of a topic and always seemed to come up with an excuse and never considered myself a writer. When I moved a few months ago, I even designated the family room as an area that I would be writing. I set up my office in one corner of the room, along with my lap top, now old, not from use, but just from years of having it. If it actually went by use, it would be basically brand new. Every writer should have a place to write, right?
Recently, when I did have a thought to write, guess where I went? Upstairs to the family room with the lap top? No. Did I even bring the computer down to where I was? No. I actually took out my little cell phone, not even one of the newer fancy model iPhones, and I started writing in the notes section.
I feel like by then, God had been telling me that I’d been stalling and delaying for far too long. I saw a meme of Moses when he went to investigate the burning bush and God started giving him instructions of what be needed to do. Moses, started coming up with all the excuses in the world (sounds just a little familiar). God went on to ask ‘What’s that in you hand?’ Moses had the shepherd’s rod. While Moses was still coming up with excuses, God told him to put it on the ground. The rod became a snake. Then He told him to pick it up again, and it went back to being a rod.
Apparently God thought I always had my phone in my hand, and got tired of hearing my excuses, so he decided to use that as my outlet.
What do you have in your hand today? God is waiting for you to stop coming up with excuses and to use the gifts He’s given you.
Lord, please help me to take note of what You are asking me to do. Help me to look at what’s in my hand that I can use to be of service for your kingdom. Help me to search for and discover the talents that you’ve given me.
