What you need. Where and when you need it!

So, I feel guilty for not posting for the last week, but life has just kinda happened and I didn’t quite know what to share. I have been praying, but it seems nothing has really come.

I came out to get my lunch and just saw the following on the side of a truck – ‘what you need. Where and when you need it’. Isn’t that like just how God provides? So, I want to share a bit with you of how I see God providing. I’ve also come to realize that it is not just in the physical or material that He provides, but in the spiritual as well.

I went to a women’s speaking and writing conference over the weekend. I was in awe that 800 women who felt called to ministry in different aspects were in the same room. The worship experience was unbelievable, almost like nothing I’ve ever experienced. Many of us were either on a speaking, writing or combination track, and some of us, like myself, were there because of obedience and God opened the door. Some of us at the start, weren’t even sure, but knew that God had led us there, and so, we were. Isn’t that like God to call you and say ‘I know you’re not ready, but I’m calling, come as you are!’ As I said, it was just beautiful.

At some point, closer to the end of the conference, I feel like God had revealed to me what He wants from me. And let me tell you, sometimes it’s not necessarily what we want for ourselves. However, after really letting myself be still, I finally heard the call that I think my writing and sharing has been preparing me for, and it’s one that I’ve avoided for as many years as I’ve been around, but my experiences have molded me and grown me.

It wasn’t until I was at the airport, ready to come home, that I really admitted to what God was asking of me, and I had learned while at the conference that He wants me to focus on ministry in my home church. I think I’m being led to Single Parent ministry in my home church. No sooner than I admitted that out loud to a dear friend, than I saw another girl that had attended the same conference. I had not had the opportunity to speak with her as our paths had not crossed. But when we started talking, she shared what she was passion about and where God had been leading her. Do you want to take a guess as to one of the areas she had focused on? Yup, Single Parent Ministry in her home church, along with sharing with others. I met many wonderful women, and I think God waited to introduce me to her because I would know that it was only Him and that He was providing me with the resources to accomplish what He’s asking of me. And yes, she lives in New York, maybe half hour away from me. There were women from across the entire country present at the conference. What are the chances that we would end up on the same flight, and one that I wasn’t even originally booked on?

What is God asking of you? Have you been reluctant to say ‘yes’ because of a fear that you don’t know what to do or if you are good enough to do it? I’m learning that if God is calling you to do something, He will equip you and give you the resources to accomplish the task He has set before you.

Dear Heavenly Father, help us to walk boldly in our calling. Help us not to cower in fear of the unknown or that we may believe that we are not good enough to do something, especially when you are calling us. God, we know that you will provide what we need, when and where we need it.
