This week, within a 24 hour window, I had two things resolve themselves in the most unexpected ways.
If you didn’t know, I’m someone who likes to plan. Planning works really well for me. Until I bump up against something that I just can’t plan my way out of and I just have to breathe and pause.
Because I like to plan, I can also worry when things don’t go according to plan.
Please tell me I’m not the only one.
Friday, as I worked from home, I received a bunch of pictures. Upon closer inspection, I couldn’t believe what I was looking at. It was information that I had been searching around the last few months for, with no success. I had put it out of mind, telling myself I would just have to deal with it when I could. I would probably have to carve out a day to get it done.
My friend happened to be in the place, asked for the information on my behalf, and sent it to me.
The next morning, I woke up to another picture of an item I was looking to purchase. This was a need, and I’d been trying to navigate the best way to do it for about 6 months.
Another friend, had been diligently looking out for me since I told her of my need, and when she was satisfied with what she saw, she shared the info.
These were two items that I initially worried how I would take care of, then when I realized I had very little options, I determined to let it go and trust the process.
I believe God used my friends to remind me of Matthew 6:34 ‘Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.’
By the way, this is not permission to not do anything. It’s important for you to do your part, then trust God to do what you cannot.
So, what are you worried about?
Take it to the only One who can help.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for your love for us. Thank you for continuing to remind us that your word is true and we can trust you. Help us to cast all our cares on you, knowing that you care for us.
