“What Am I Building?”
I’ve been sitting with this question recently. Maybe it is as a result of a conference I attended that reminded me that the work that I do is not just for today, but it is building something bigger for tomorrow.
Have you ever asked yourself this question? “What am I building?”
When I embarked on this journey seven years ago, I was very confident that the Lord had called me into this space. To be honest, I had no idea what it would be or what it could look like. One of the first things I did was to hire a coach to help me with the transition. While I did not realize it at the time, one of the biggest takeaways from him was for me to combine Faith and Finance as something that would set me apart in a sea of Financial Advisors.
In full transparency, it wasn’t until about a year later that another coach, who had become my friend, asked me if my original coach told me I should combine Faith and Finance, that the dots started connecting.
Since then, I have dug deeply into who I serve and how I serve them. In the years preceding leaving corporate, I had started asking a question of myself “who is serving the woman who is just like me?” She has made good choices. She has gained some assets and grown her net worth, but she might not have had the full clarity as to what else she needed to do to get to the next level.
This is one of the reasons I’m so passionate about the work that I do. I help the woman who may be or have been in a similar situation as me at some point and needs to get the guidance to be able to move to the next level. This season has even allowed me to see things from a very different perspective. Even in my career now, I have surrounded myself with others who can guide me to get to the next level.
I also understand that not everyone who comes to me will need ongoing financial guidance and sometimes it’s just someone to sit with them and answer their questions. What are the next few steps that they need to take to be able to get to near-term goals?
This is why I offer a one time clarity session.
This session allows you to brainstorm in a consultative process which also offers practical tools of the next steps to take on your journey. I am discovering that this life can be a beautiful journey, but it’s also helpful to have a GPS that is directing the path of where we want to go and this is what this session does for you.
I also recognize that there are many who would benefit greatly from an ongoing relationship, and I truly enjoy getting to know my clients and helping them to realize that this is not just about their finances but helping them to live their best lives as they make wise ongoing decisions around their money and living within their values of what is important to them. I get the joy of helping others to navigate life’s many transitions and get to see the progress that they are able to make with ongoing guidance.
Investment News says it this way: “Clients receiving structured, ongoing guidance report lower financial anxiety, stronger motivation to stay focused on long-term objectives, and higher satisfaction with their advisor’s role in their lives. Trust levels in advisor relationships also rise when clients feel their planner provides clarity and direction through complex decisions.”
Vanguard Research says it this way: “Advice delivers emotional value to clients through more peace of mind. 86% of advised clients report having greater peace of mind when thinking about their finances, compared with managing them on their own. Advice improves investors’ positive emotions and seems particularly effective at lessening negative emotions regarding personal finances, such as feeling overwhelmed and worried.”

I look forward to guiding you on the next steps of your financial journey.
