Turbulence

My daughter and I were flying recently. The pilot announced that he was going to be turning on the seatbelt sign as he saw some turbulence ahead. We all scurried to buckle our belts, but a few minutes passed and nothing happened and my daughter started getting restless. She wanted to take the seat belt off, and I told her no, we had been given instructions. Very shortly after, we hit a little patch of turbulence, and she jumped excitedly and was happy that she was in her seatbelt.
There are times where we are forewarned of trouble to come. We shouldn’t get complacent because it doesn’t happen right away. On the converse of that, there are times when God foretells of good things to come, but we can’t get impatient as we wait. God is not a man that He shall lie. Whatever you are holding on to God’s word for, keep trusting that He will never lie.
Dear Heavenly Father, we thank you that we can trust you and that your words are true. Thank you for foresight, even when those things aren’t positive. Help us to maintain a prayerful attitude as we go through our times of turbulence, and conversely, help us to trust that you will keep your promises of good times to come.
