This Makes No Sense

As my writing day approached and no inspiration hit, I kept asking what my topic would be, but after many years, I knew I needn’t worry. It would eventually be made clear.

I had seen an Instagram post with a message that caught my eye and I wrote down the name and where the full message could be found.

When I finally had some quiet time in my evening, I was reminded that I wanted to watch this message.

As the speaker shared the message, he said something that jumped out at me ‘this makes no sense’.

How many times had I told God, ‘you know this makes no sense, right?’

If I were to be honest… far too many.

I’ve walked a journey that I say often: this makes no sense.

By the way, I believe with my whole heart that the God of the universe welcomes me telling Him that it makes no sense. He might even chuckle and say ‘it makes no sense now, but in a little while it will. Just hang on for a bit longer’.

And then He gently reminds me what Isaiah 55:9 says: for as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than yours, and my thoughts than yours’

And then, I too can smile (even through tears) and say ‘it may not make sense now, but in a little while it will’.

Dear Heavenly Father, I’m so grateful for your love. I’m so grateful your ways are higher than mine and you see the beginning from the end, and you simply call us to trust you.
