As I was scrolling through Instagram, I saw this aerial view of a road I’ve traveled a few times. I’ve driven along the top road, unable to see what was below and unable to see what was to the left or right due to the foliage.
I’ve even had the pleasure of going on the road below, right next to the rafts. As it was raining the day I went, we didn’t get out of the car. But I was able to see the beauty of the river and rafters – but from where we were, I didn’t know the ocean was not too far away.
Does this feel like the life you are living?
You can see what’s up close, and you know what’s behind, but you cannot see the full picture of what’s really happening.
I believe this is what Isaiah 55:8-9 means.. “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
Sometimes we are in such close proximity and we cannot see the full picture. I believe our Father has the aerial view and is able to see the whole picture and we must learn to trust Him and the plans He has for us.
Dear Heavenly Father, we thank you for your love. We thank you for all that you are doing in our lives, even when we do not understand. Would you please allow us to trust you even more each day, no matter what our limited perspective tells us?
Ps. If you’ve gotten this far, can you please lift up a prayer for our family and especially my grandmother? Thank you.
