As I’ve sat, meditating on what to share, God remains faithful – even as it comes down to the wire.
Sitting quietly in my rocking chair, waiting for a topic that I know will come. How do I know this? Nine years of experiencing the same thing. As it was my mother’s birthday yesterday, it also means I’ve reached another milestone year of writing. Hard to believe, but nine whole years have passed, and I’ve been able to experience God’s faithfulness with providing a fresh topic.
I’ve been anchored in 2 Chronicles 20 for quite some time. I thought it was since 2020, but just found a note with a date of 2017. And now seeing that it’s carried me through so many different seasons.
2 Chronicles 20:12b ‘We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon you’
2 Chronicles 20:15b ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.’
2 Chronicles 20:17 ‘You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you. O Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow; and the Lord will be with you.’
Exodus 14:13a ‘Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today’
Exodus 14:14 ‘The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still’
Friends, I don’t know what the Lord is telling you to stand firm about – but, trust Him that He can fight the battles for you. You need only to be still.
Dear Heavenly Father, we are so grateful that your instructions remain constant. Your love and care does not change with the seasons. We are so grateful that you show us the example of a good good Father. We are also deeply grateful for earthly fathers and father figures in our lives. Would you bless them and provide all they need, and that they will fully trust you with all the details of their lives?
Ps. Happy Father’s Day to the amazing dads, and those who love children as their very own.
