I woke up asking the Lord for today’s topic.
I started saying ‘speak to my heart’ as a request to know what to do, and my mind started hearing the words from this not so recent song.
Are you in the midst of a situation and you don’t know whether to turn to the right or to the left?
Today, I want to encourage you with the simple request ‘speak to my heart Lord’. No matter what situation you are facing, would you take a moment and pause and make this request, then wait for an answer?
James 1:5 states, ‘if any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you’.
I love this verse and I’ve been clinging to it more and more lately.
I was doing a financial presentation and I encourage the attendees to ask general questions. Towards the end of the presentation, someone asked a question and while I did not know the genesis of the question, I used that verse that she needed to ask for wisdom and that I didn’t know enough to answer, so I was keeping my mouth shut. My mom later shared the backstory and realized that if I’d given an answer in any other way, that I probably would have made a misstep.
I love the story of Solomon, and him asking for wisdom and have used it as a guide in my own life. I have consistently asked God for wisdom and now, for Him to speak to me on things I don’t know or understand. It keeps me humble as I’m reminded that I can’t always trust the way things look, but I can trust who sees all.
Dear Heavenly Father, would you please speak to my heart and provide wisdom on what I need? Would you please help me to make wise choices in all I do?
