Don’t you hate when doors are closed in front of you?
I was reading a devotion this morning and it talked about when some doors were closed, many times unexpectedly, and you started worrying about what you would do next.
Sometimes, we are ready for these chapters/doors to be closed. But oftentimes, it catches us completely off guard. As I read the devotion, I thought back to some of my closed doors, and realized that they were blessings in disguise. At first I might have been frustrated at either the door being closed or not being swung open, but those disappointments forced me to wait on what God was doing.
Today, I am grateful for the doors that God both closes and opens.
Friends, sometimes if we do not have closed doors, we would never look for the better doors that are being opened right before our eyes. Sometimes we have to be made uncomfortable to find God’s best for us.
Revelations 3:7b states ‘What He opens no one can shut, and what He shuts no one can open’.
I’m still waiting for some doors to be opened, and looking back, I’m extremely grateful for some closed doors.
How can you change your perspective to see a closed door as an opportunity for much more of what God has in store?
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for both closed and opened doors. If some doors had been left open, it would have led to my ruin, but thank you for closing them. Thank you for your grace and opening new doors, even though they might have felt scary at the time.
