Nothing is Wasted

This week there were positives, but also, filled with so many losses.

I pray for all those who are grieving the loss of loved ones, and want to share a reminder from Psalm 34:18 ‘The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit’.

I pray you feel the Lord’s comforting arms around you as you navigate this new chapter.

This week, in the midst of learning of losses, I had the bright spot of a meeting with someone I met many years ago, never met in person, but, now we live relatively close to each other, so we decided to make it an in person meeting.

When we saw each it, it seemed as if no time had passed and we caught up like old friends.

I believe with my heart that God has a way of bypassing what feels like the mundane and skipping straight to the heart of the matter. As we sat and listened to each other, I was amazed at how God can use some of the hardest experiences of our lives to mold us and shape us into who He desires us to be.

No experience is wasted in God’s Kingdom, no matter how hard it may seem at the time.

One of the things that stuck out to me as she shared some things, she explained that she would literally hear my voice when she thought of the decisions she wanted to make.

I had to pause her and ask her to repeat. I was tickled, and, I also know she’s not the first person to share this. It’s a very grounding feeling for me.

It made me think of Isaiah 30:21 ‘Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it’

Psalm 32:8 ‘I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you’

Please don’t misread and think I’m saying I’m God. These experiences simply remind me that when we are in relationship with God, we can count on Him to lead in our lives and He will guide on the path we are to take.

Even when our experiences are nothing like we would choose, we can trust that God wastes nothing in His economy and our experiences can turn out for our good, we simply have to trust the One who holds all our days.

One day, we might even end up sharing our very own hard story with someone who needs to be reminded that they too can make it to the other side.

My friends, nothing is wasted. Ask God to show you how to use your story to allow someone else to walk in their freedom.

Dear Heavenly Father, we are so grateful that you are the God who sees and knows all, even when our experiences are nothing that we would choose. Help us to look and be reminded that you never promised that we wouldn’t hurt, but what you have promised is the walk with us through all of life’s ups and downs. Help us to share our testimony with others, so you can help them on their healing journey.
