I had the privilege of watching fireworks recently. Prior to the start of it, there was a lot of build up and excitement. The team presenting waited until the skies were just about pitch black before commencing the festivities. As I watched in awe and amazement, I saw how one little spark created the most luminous lights and burst into even bigger sparkles. This went on for a full 15 minutes in the night skies. It would start with one little spark, then when it got mid-air it would burst and create the most spectacular sights.
This got me thinking about my own experiences and what I had read and the songs that I sang as a child ‘it only takes a spark to get a fire going’. One little spark can light a fire. One little spark in the dark can brighten the whole area. One little spark can make others feel love and appreciated. But do you notice when the spark can be seen brightest? It has to be very dark.
Are you going through a difficult period in your life? Are others around you having difficulties? Do not discount the effect of your own spark. It only takes a spark to get the fire going. Do not be afraid to show and share your spark. I promise, nothing will be lost to you if you choose to share your spark, it will only make for a brighter area around you, sparks are contagious.
Dear Heavenly Father, we thank you for your love. Please help us to be bright sparks in a world that is so often plagued by darkness. Help us to shine our little lights, no matter how insignificant we may think it is, knowing that you can multiply anything we do for you in your name.
