This morning, I seem to be thinking of ‘Time’.
I ended my journaling time, asking God to do what I believe He has promised, but this morning, I surprised even myself. I asked Him not to do the thing, if it’s not the right time.
You see, even the best things, under the wrong circumstances or wrong time, can become a hindrance and even make life harder.
As I thought of this, a passage of scripture came to mind..
Ecclesiastes 3:1 states, ‘There is a time for everything, and a season for ever activity under heaven’…
The first part of the chapter then shares the contrast of each thing – and that there are appropriate times for them to happen.
After I attended a financial advisor’s conference a few months ago, it suggested we pray this prayer for a week. It’s based on Psalms 90:12, it states ‘teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom’. They suggested a week, I’ve been praying it for about three months already.
My friend and I were talking, and she said she offers up her time to God each day, and it always amazes her how much she is able to accomplish. I feel the same.
How are you spending your time? Are you asking God to do things on His schedule and not yours?
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you that there is a time and a season for everything. Father, teach me to number my days so that I will gain a heart of wisdom and understanding. Teach me to trust you and your timing.
