Gratefulness

This time of year, I am filled with gratitude.

It’s an easy anniversary to remember, as it is the same as my mother’s birthday. Today makes two years since I’ve started my blog.  More than a sense of gratefulness, is a sense of awe at what God can do when we show up willing. And sometimes it may not even be willingness, but it may be born out of obedience.

I look back over the last two years and I am simply amazed at the journey He has been taking me on. At the onset, I would never have been able to guess that saying a simple “Yes, I’ll go” could be so impactful. It has meant a life of submission and complete reliance on what God is asking me to do. I’ll be the first to raise my hand and tell you that at times it can be downright hard. But at the same time it has come with a sense of peace and joy that I cannot put into words.

So, as I mark my mother’s birthday, the two year anniversary of writing a blog, and almost 200 posts later – when I never even believed I was a writer – I want to encourage you.

If God is asking you to do something, do not be afraid to step out of your boat of comfort and step into the middle of the ocean, and watch how God can do the miraculous in your submitted life.

I am a living witness to this type of miracle, over and over again.

2 Timothy 1:7 NIV “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.”

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you that whenever you ask us to step out of the boat of comfort, that you do not leave us nor expect us to do it on our own. Help us to hold on to your unchanging hands because you will not leave or forsake us.
