I’ve been working on a client issue for close to a year. Yup.. almost a year.
There are some things that were beyond our control and we just had to wait.
I had to call my back office for guidance and the first person who picked up, while professional, was quick to transfer me to the next person who was supposed to help. He transferred me with hardly any instructions.
The next person picked up, and I tried to explain the situation and he listened patiently. He said he thinks he understands what the first person intended and he would connect me, but would stay on the line. He kept his word, even hearing that there were some things that needed to be done over.
Ugh.. I expressed my frustration and shared that I’d been trying to do this one thing for close to a year – and seemed to always run into some kind of issue. He said ‘don’t worry, I’m going to help you get this done’.
We agreed to speak the following day, with time carved out.
When we connected the next day, he started at the very beginning. He was patient, he walked through every possible issue.
As we neared the end, I suggested I better review everything one more time. His response floored me… He said, ‘I was reviewing it with you all along. I turned off all my work notifications so I could focus fully with you’.
We had been chatting about our various experiences throughout the call and as we ended, I offered if I could pray with him. He accepted.
I was so incredibly grateful that this person chose to go above and beyond his duty to help me. I even wanted to make sure that it wasn’t an issue and he insisted that it was totally fine – on multiple occasions.
Sometimes, God has a way of putting just the person we need, in the moment we need.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for continuing to remind me that you care about all the details and that you do not separate our personal lives from our professional lives. You still show up in all areas of our lives. Help us to be reminded that you have it all under control, in every area of who we are.
