God’s Planning Supersedes Mine

Have you ever been nervous or anxious about something you know God has already promised to take care of for you?

That’s where I found myself a few days ago.

You know how I like to plan, and as I’m planning for where I am and where I think I need to be, I started to get a bit anxious.

I reached out to my very good friend who’s a bit farther along in the journey. He asked some questions, and made some observations. And within moments, I was thankful as I laughed at myself because I was reminded of some truths. Thanks, friend.

The next morning, I encountered a devotion in the Bible app that was dealing with exactly my struggles from the previous day, and the thoughts that still lingered, I started the devotion.

Some of the verses that it shared in times of being anxious are:

1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.

Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Friends, being able to recall scripture in times of need is super awesome. And… Being able to reach out to friends who understand the journey is way cool, too. Thank you to my friends who God has blessed me with for different parts of my journey.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for scripture when we need to be reminded of how you care for us. From the beginning of time, you’ve had good plans for us, help us to believe that and to trust you at your word. Thank you for the friends you have strategically placed in our lives to help us out on this journey. You knew it won’t always be easy, but in your wisdom, you’ve provided for us, ahead of time.
