God is consistent

My daughter makes me laugh!

This morning as I was driving her to school, she looks at me and says “Mommy, you have a meeting today”. I started laughing as I knew exactly why she was asking. I was wearing makeup and I had explained to her in the past that I typically don’t wear make-up to work unless I have a client meeting, and she remembered.  I explained to her that although I did not have a client meeting, I had something to do. I didn’t explain that I had a wake after work, because it would have been too many more questions than I was ready to explain that early in the morning.

I think by now, you know me well enough to know that her comment got me thinking.

My daughter has come to expect consistency from me. She has come to expect that once I tell her something, that is the way it goes, because we have built a trust relationship with each other. I am learning the same thing from God. God is and has been consistent, and whatever His word says, will come to pass, no matter how long it takes.  We see it all throughout the Bible, where God has made certain promises, and even though they may take a long time (by our standards), God is faithful.

What are you trusting God for? God is faithful. Also, keep in mind that He may not respond to your request the way you expect. One of the keys when we get unexpected responses to our requsts is to not be disappointed. God has a way of working out all things for our good. He has shown me time and again, I hope you realize it too.

Dear Heavenly Father, please help me to trust you more each day. Help me not to lose hope when things don’t happen as I expect or in the way I think it should. Please teach me your ways and remind me that your ways are higher than any I could ever imagine.
