Daddy’s girl

My car muffler blew out last weekend.

I tried to have it addressed right away by seeing my uncle who knows about cars, but for one reason or another, I was unable to find the place he was sending me to. He’d also advised me that while it sounded bad, it was still in driving condition.

Then the next day arrived.

My car not only sounded loud, was going slow because it was losing power, but also started having a knocking sound under the hood.

In a relative state of panic, as I did not want to have this one issue become a bigger one, I called my dad. We’d previously discussed it and agreed that my uncle, because he was closer in proximity should look at it.

When I heard the knocking on Monday morning and called him later in the day, he rearranged his day to ensure that he was able to almost meet me at home. He even brought his car for me to drive in case I needed a loaner.

Man, I love my dad.

Imagine if my earthly dad would go out of his way to come rescue his very grown daughter.

Imagine how much more our Heavenly Father would do.

My earthly father didn’t meet me until I was born. My Heavenly Father knew me before I was formed and called me fearfully and wonderfully made.

My earthly father knows I have hair (and the color varies depending on the day). My Heavenly Father has numbered the very hairs on my head.

I called my earthly father and he dropped what he was doing to come rescue me. Before I call on my Heavenly Father, He already knows my needs and my heart’s desires.

I have a pretty awesome earthly father.

But, my Heavenly Father far outweighs what my earthly father can do.

Dear Father, thank you for loving us and blessing us with earthly parents who are to model your love and teach us your ways. Father, I know that not everyone is in the same situation that I am with an awesome earthly father, but I ask you to open their eyes to see that they have an even more awesome Heavenly Father who cares about every aspect of their lives and is able to fulfill much more than any earthly father will.
