A few days ago, I hit a work anniversary: two years of being an independent financial advisor.
As I sat in my quiet time, I truly marveled at the work that God has been doing in my life. The way He has been able to combine my love for educating people on their finances, with the gift He’s given me to be able to speak to their hearts about life matters and talk about God in our business conversations.
And I consider it such a gift. One that I would not have experienced if I was too fearful of how I would manage, or how I would get clients, or any of the ‘hows’ that I had asked. And trust me, I’d asked plenty (and still do) – but I still had to trust God when He said it was time to do something differently.
So, on Thursday, I celebrated. In a small way, but I acknowledged the milestone that I had reached, took a few pictures, bought myself an ice cream cake, sat quietly and reflectively, and thanked God.
Today’s Bible App verse of the day seems fitting: “And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.”2 Corinthians 9:8 NIV
The words that jump out at me ‘having all that you need’. Friends, it does not have to be about material wealth. For me, this season has been about peace and freedom to show up for my daughter in the way that I would need to in a pandemic – before I knew a pandemic was coming.
And so, I celebrated the milestone.
What blessing in your life will you take a moment to celebrate, no matter how small you think it is? It’s in these moments of celebrating (showing gratitude) that we are able to move forward and do much more.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you that you are the God who knows and sees all. Thank you for the people you put in our path to help fulfill our purposes, help us to recognize them. Help us to boldly step out and do the things you have called us to do, no matter how scary they may seem.
