I was just scrolling through pictures and was reminded of the topic I wanted to share. A couple years ago as I was planning my birthday celebration, I had bought some yellow flowers, yellow utensils and black table cloth, along with a gold banner in the days leading up. The celebration was going to be simple, and the decoration was as well.
When I got to church the day before my birthday, the fellowship hall was beautifully decorated with gold and black balloons. When I queried what they were going to do with them after, they explained they had no need and they’d be tossed. I asked if I could have some. Like.. how? The exact colors of what I wanted…
Fast forward to this week, I saw God show up in three instances before I even thought to ask for what I wanted.
A friend reached out to check on me and see how I was doing. Little did she know, my heart had been craving a conversation with her. When I saw her text come in, I smiled, because I knew it was an answer that had come straight from God.
Another friend reached out to share a testimony with me. This friend and I are constantly amazed at God’s faithfulness towards each of us. In the message he shared, he mentioned someone, that he would have had no idea that I needed, but, I had been in desperate need of, but wasn’t sure where to turn.
I had to laugh at God’s sense of humor. The message he was sharing had little to do with the person. But, God knew what I needed and provided through a testimony.
The third one occurred in the park. As I walked, I saw two beautiful pink roses on the ground. They weren’t store bought, and I decided to pink one up for myself. It was so pretty and I just kept walking and admiring it. Then, I started asking the Lord who I should give it to. I walked for almost a mile before I saw the person I felt should have it. We likely didn’t even speak the same language. I held it out to her, she took it, and had the biggest smile.
Shortly after, I saw another lady that I had given some sneaker guidance to some years ago, and to this day, she still tells me that she prays for me. While I knew the right person had gotten the rose, I wished I’d been able to give to her too.
Sometimes, I change my walking direction and I ended up doing so that morning. I happened to see the other rose again and picked it up. Shortly after, I saw the second lady. I crossed the path, to go hand it to her. She too, had a big smile.
For me, they were very small gestures to let these other women know they were seen. And, in doing so, I felt seen as well.
Isaiah 65:24 states ‘Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear’
Jeremiah 33:3 states: ‘Call to me and I will answer and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know’
This week, the word ‘unsearchable’ became highlighted for me. As someone who Googles and uses AI, I understood that there are things that God will answer and tell me, that I won’t even be able to do searches for. And for that, I’m grateful.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you that you answer before we even call. Thank you that you know all the mysteries of the world, and there will be things that only you can reveal to us. Help us to always call on you.
