As I prayed and waited for today’s topic, nothing seemed to come.
With barely an hour before the post goes out, I still had not given up, trusting that God would provide a fresh message – for you, and for me.
I’d gone directly to the devotion I was studying in the Bible app as my devotion time was limited, so, I had missed the verse of the day. Once I resettled, I decided to open the app one more time to see if there was inspiration.
There was, and it came from the verse of the day…
Joshua 1:9 ‘Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will go wherever you go’
And, tears sprang to my eyes as a sense of peace hovered.
I may not know or understand what season of discouragement you are walking through, but, God has promised to be with you (and me) through it all. He has promised that He will never leave you or forsake you.
A portion of a verse springs to mind: if I make my bed in the depths (hell), He is there. (Psalm 138:8)
And friends, these are promises I can take to the bank, no matter how I am feeling.
I encourage you today: be strong. Do not be discouraged… no matter what oppositions you are dealing with, and no matter what you are going through.
Stand still and see the goodness of the Lord, in the land of the living.
Dear Heavenly Father, I am so grateful that you are an on time God. My timing may look differently than yours. I may even get anxious as I’m waiting for your answer, but, you have proven time and time again: you are an on time God, and we do not need to be discouraged, no matter what the circumstances look like.
