A Front Row Seat

As I contemplated today’s topic, I realize this is actually part of the process I enjoy. It forces me to pause and reflect on some of the things the Lord has done during the week and to ask what it is that I should share. More often than not as I’m sharing the topic, I’d say it’s selfishly more for me than for others.

As I read through one of my devotions from intouch.org where it spoke about all of us have different gifts as a part of the whole body and some gifts are more visible than others, while some are quietly done when no one is watching, but it does not lessen the impact of those who were the recipient of those gifts. Thank you to those who quietly serve behind the scenes with a joyful heart.

As I was thinking of one of the gifts I have been given over the years, it has been to pray with those who need an encouraging word. If you know me, I do not like public intercessory prayers but sign me up for those one-on-one conversations that include a prayer.

Some years ago, someone reached out, saying the Lord had told her to call me. We had known each other for years, but had not been very close. As we talked I realized why I was one of the phone calls that she was to make, we prayed and cried together. She would not know that I would be a beneficiary of that time together as well.

This week we got to celebrate the prayers and the tears and everything in between. And as I cried with joy for her, it became a beautiful reminder of God‘s faithfulness, even during the hard seasons.

I cannot tell you definitively why God felt it was important for me to have a front row seat to this miracle, but I can only guess: He’s reminding me that if He can do it for her, He can do it for me as well.

Friends, I just want to remind you: God is faithful, even when the answers look nothing like you would expect them to. I can confidently say His ways are far better than what we can imagine.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for your love. Thank you for front row seats to miracles and answered prayers. Thank you for your faithfulness even when it feels like you’re doing nothing. Thank you that you are still working in the midst of everything.
