A Father’s Love

I always knew my dad was a good dad, but I recently discovered just how amazing he is.

I don’t often get to see a certain side of him, but I recently told him I wanted to tackle a project. Well, he was going to do the project and I was going to help.

When he came over, he took time to bring food – I think this is one of his love languages, making sure those around him are well fed.

He got to work, heaving boxes bigger than him and started pulling out the pieces. He showed me how to use my newly acquired power drill and kept going until the job was done, well into the night.

Then, he went and tackled two more things that I would have normally called two different professionals for.

When he told me he was done and they were fixed, I was in amazement.

How did you learn how to do these things, in almost unrelated professions?

He laughed and shared how he’d learned along the way.

That night, I couldn’t help but be proud to have a father like that.

And then the thought comes, if my earthly father is so amazing, how much more is my Heavenly Father. Earthly dads can be pretty cool, but, they are infallible at times. On the other hand, our Heavenly Father, well.. it’s pretty amazing to see His love poured out, daily, in different ways.

If you are longing for an earthly father figure, would you ask our Father to provide one?

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for your love and care. Thank you for fathers and father figures who represent you well in the love they show us. Would you please provide for those who are in need?

Side note: my friends’ uncle remains missing after many weeks. Would you lift him up in prayer that he will be found safely.
